Review: Braille Scale Modeling eBook Armour Featured Reviews by José Teixidó - July 5, 2012July 10, 20121 There is only one thing rarer than good scale modeling how-to books and it is Braille scale modeling how-to books. Fear not my fellow gentleman, Sven-Åke Grufstedt from Sweden has you covered with his just released Braille Scale Modelling eBook. The book format is flawless. From design, layout to photographic quality I’d say it is on par with what you would expect from an Osprey “modeling” series, or even better. Since it is an e-book you also get the plus of having zoomable and fully searchable pages. Content focuses mainly on finishing, and spans on everything from preshading techniques to pigments and oil weathering. It also covers the hairspray and salt chipping techniques. The text is well written and provides a good description on the task at hand supported by the step by step images on several AFV models and impressive dioramas ranging from WW2 to modern subjects. All in all it is not only a great finishing literature, but also a blessing that it is 1/72 specific. It is also a bargain at 2.5 US$. It costs less than a jar of pigments but the skills portrayed will last you a lifetime. For those who would rather have a printed version, you can always have it printed at a shop or online at places like www.doxdirect.com This eBook is most recommended to anyone with an interest in armour modeling and weathering, even if you are not specific to the true gentleman’s scale you will get a lot of mileage out of Mr. Grufstedt tips. I sure wish to see more of his stuff in the future. Get it directly from the editor at: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Esseaux
