Condor Decal announces new “low-vis Argentina Mirage” decal sheet in both 1/72 and 1/48 News by José Teixidó - September 17, 2013April 18, 20161 The Argentine decal producer has just announced an exciting new decal sheet for all the delta winged fans out there. As a companion for their early, and more colorful Argentine Mirage sheet (currently OOP) this release timing is perfect as HPM just announced they are ready to release their twin seat Mirage. The subjects on this new Condor Decal sheet will include a Mirage IIIDA Dagger T in air superiority grey with a hastily applied “kill” marking of a Mirage Finger and a A-4AR Fightinghawk! Dated May 2006 these markings are likely from one of the several local/regional exercises these units attend to, not bad for a twin seater! There are other serials, should you decide to build another airframe. Next there is are a couple Mirage Finger Bs, which are nothing more than upgraded IAI Daggers. As such these airframes sport their Falkland campaign mission markings. One of them for “HMS Arrow” and “HMS Brilliant”, the other just for “HMS Brilliant”. You also get the Falklands/Malvinas silhouette for the intakes. Last but not least you get two MIrage VPA “Mara” (patagonian hare. Argentine upgraded, ex-Peruvian Air Force Mirage 5P3s) one in a rather exotic patagonian camo, and the other one for an all grey bird. Interestingly enough, C-630 is included, which is the last flying Mara to the best of my knowledge. C-630 was also the prototype for the Mara conversion, and one of the few airframes equipped with flare/chaff launchers. Chaff/Flare were a feature that didn’t spread through the whole Mirage Mara fleet Mara C-630, one of the subjects in Condor Decals new release Any of these models can be built straight from the 1/72 HPM Dagger kit already released (parts included in the box for the Finger) or converted from it (Maras). If you are brave enough you can do the same from the Heller kit. As for the twin-seater it should be available any time now also from HPM. Stay tuned for an in-depth review/test-build using this decal in the short future.
